Restorative & Repair
Dental Bridge
Also called: tooth bridge, fixed bridge
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by anchoring a false tooth to the natural teeth or implants on either side of the gap. Unlike a denture, it is fixed in place and does not come out. It restores both chewing and appearance.
What to expect
- The anchor teeth are shaped and scanned, then a custom bridge is made.
- A temporary bridge protects the area while the final one is built.
- The bridge is cemented in place and adjusted for comfort.
Questions to ask a practice
- Is a bridge or an implant the better long-term choice for my gap?
- How do I clean under the bridge to keep it healthy?
- How many visits will this take, and what is the cost?
