About this video
When the tongue collapses the airway for ten seconds or more this is called an apneic event. This does not allow oxygen into the lungs and causes an increase in carbon dioxide. The body perceives this and alerts the patient to awaken themselves and begin breathing again. Dr. Skowronski's knowledge and expertise on the subject of Sleep Apnea will provide the patient with alternative treatment modalities. Please feel free to contact his office where they will be able to assist you and your treatment needs.
